This home is situated on the bay with panoramic views with hundreds of feet of private coastline. Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise, spot the local wildlife. Follow our boardwalk trail to the water point, where you can launch your kayak, or rent one from the nearby provider. The home is a peaceful retreat to return to from your busy day at Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Stargazing opportunities here are endless! We are well located, just minutes from great restaurants as well as all of your shopping needs.
Overview of the layout: The interior of the home is spacious, with open floor plan on the first floor. The lower level begins with a mudroom to full kitchen, leading to a large windowed great room which includes: a quaint antique dining area, fireplace seating and living room area. There are two bedrooms on opposite sides of the home (1 king and 1 full bedroom) both with full bath. Both bedrooms open to the outside wrap around deck via sliding doors. The third half bath is also on the first floor. It is located off the mudroom, and includes the washer/dryer. The second floor is accessible by a spiral staircase, which leads to a bedroom with 2 twin beds, and full bath. A small family room sits adjacent, with a television and single sized futon. The upper level is partially open, overlooking the downstairs.
Around town: A scenic 50 minute drive from Bangor Airport and 26 miles to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park makes this home ideal for vacationers. Ellsworth is an easy 10 minutes away, where you'll find: an LL Bean outlet, Cadillac Mountain Outfitters, Walmart, Home Depot and Hannafords. You will also find lovely country stores, antique shopping, and other locally owned businesses and restaurants nearby for you to explore throughout your stay.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
*We are located in a forested area, which means you may encounter wildlife. We ask that you give them space, and do not feed any wildlife. We also recommend packing insect repellent, as mosquitos and ticks are prevalent during spring/summer months.
*Our home is not air conditioned, as the NE summer coastal climate does not demand it. We do however, have multiple ceiling fans in place, as well as provide additional fans for cooling and circulation during summer months. An extension pole for opening recessed windows on the ceiling can also be found in the upstairs twin bedroom.
*Our home has a doorbell camera, which is located at the front door. It is for the security of the property, as well as guest safety. We ask that it remains unobstructed in order to function properly. In addition, the modem/router must stay plugged in at all times as well to maintain proper WiFi connection.
*We do offer a firepit for campfires, but there are frequent drought/burn restrictions in our area. Please be aware due to circumstances beyond our control that it may not be available for campfires during your stay
